Leaving your infant in someone else’s care is one of the most emotionally significant decisions you will ever make. At Hillsborough Private Schools in Anaheim, we understand the weight of that trust — and we have built our infant care program to honor it completely.

The word “private” in infant care means something specific at Hillsborough. It means your infant is not one of twenty in a large room. It means the person caring for your child knows them — their sleep patterns, their feeding cues, the way they like to be held when they’re unsettled.
It means your baby has a primary caregiver who shows up every day, builds a consistent relationship, and gives you a detailed update every time you pick up.
For infants — who are developing at a faster neurological pace during their first 18 months than at any other point in their lives — that consistency and quality of care is not a preference. It is a developmental necessity.
At Hillsborough, our private infant care program in Anaheim is designed to give every enrolled infant exactly that — a safe, nurturing, responsive environment run by qualified caregivers who take the responsibility of early infant development seriously.
Come See Our Infant Care Environment in Person.
Our infant care ratios are kept significantly below the California state maximum. We maintain low caregiver-to-infant ratios so that every infant in our care receives the individual attention their development requires — not just when they need it, but throughout the entire day.
This means your baby is never waiting. Never overlooked. Always responded to promptly, warmly, and individually.
Every infant enrolled at Hillsborough is assigned a primary caregiver — a consistent adult who takes primary responsibility for that child’s daily care and development. This relationship is intentional and important.
Research consistently shows that infants who experience consistent, responsive caregiving develop stronger attachment patterns, healthier emotional regulation, and better cognitive outcomes. We build our staffing model around that research.
Infant development is not passive — and our program reflects that. Each day includes age-appropriate activities designed to stimulate and support your infant’s growing brain:
We understand that infants do not run on adult schedules. Our program does not force infants into rigid group routines — instead, we follow each infant’s natural rhythms for feeding, sleep, and activity, while maintaining the overall structure that allows our caregivers to give quality attention to every child.
You will always know your infant’s daily schedule in advance, and any changes will be communicated promptly.
You should never finish a pickup wondering how your baby’s day went. At Hillsborough, we provide:
We believe that informed, involved parents are better equipped to support their infant’s development at home — and we make communication a core part of our program, not an afterthought.

Step 1 — Schedule a Tour Visit our infant care facility, meet the caregivers, and see the environment your child would be spending their days in. We encourage you to ask every question you have — there are no wrong ones.
Step 2 — Developmental Consultation We’ll discuss your infant’s current age, feeding and sleep routines, any specific needs or health considerations, and your scheduling requirements. We want to understand your child before they arrive.
Step 3 — Complete Enrollment Documentation Health forms, emergency contacts, feeding preferences, and enrollment agreements are all handled at this stage. We walk you through everything clearly and at your pace.
Step 4 — Transition Planning We work with every family to plan a gradual, positive transition for their infant — shorter initial sessions that build up to full days, giving your child time to adjust comfortably.
Please note: Infant care spots at Hillsborough are limited by design — our low ratios mean we can only take a small number of infants at any time. We strongly recommend reaching out early to check current availability.
What age do you accept infants from? We accept infants from 6 weeks of age through 18 months, at which point children transition into our toddler development program.
What are your caregiver-to-infant ratios? We maintain ratios well below the California state requirement. Specific current ratios are discussed during your tour consultation.
How do you handle feeding — including breastfeeding and expressed milk? We support all feeding methods and work closely with parents to follow each infant’s established feeding routine. Expressed milk is stored and handled according to strict hygiene protocols.
What is your sick child policy? Children showing signs of illness are not permitted to attend in order to protect all enrolled infants. We will communicate our full sick policy during your enrollment consultation.
Are your caregivers background-checked and trained in infant CPR? Yes. Every caregiver working in our infant program has undergone a thorough background check and holds current infant CPR and first aid certification.
How do you handle the transition when my infant moves to the toddler program? We manage the transition from infant care to toddler programming carefully and gradually, with full communication and involvement from the family throughout the process.
The environment your infant spends their first months in shapes more than their days — it shapes their earliest understanding of safety, trust, and the world around them. At Hillsborough, we take that responsibility seriously.
Our private infant care program in Anaheim gives your youngest child the consistency, expertise, and genuine attention they deserve — so that you can have the confidence and peace of mind you need.
