This month we celebrated our teachers and moms!  Teacher Appreciation Week was so special with so many kind words.  The best part was how the children were so excited to give the teachers their gifts.  They loved being a part of celebration.  Thank you for showing us so much love and appreciation.

In the same week, we also celebrated our amazing moms!  We provided a snack, activities, and the children made gifts for their moms.  It was lovely spending time together with everyone and coning together as a community of moms!  Thank you for joining us.

Our curriculum theme this month is Bugs and Crawly Things.  In Hillsborough fashion, we needed to bring this lesson to real life learning, so the Doodlebug Show stopped by with crawly things.   Ms. Rachel with the Doodlebug Show brought with her – “Prince” – African Bullfrog, “Maximus” – Giant African Millipede, “Archie & Tessla” – Peppered Cockroaches, “Amaris” – Emperor Scorpion, and “Dulce” – Milksnake.  The teachers and children were so brave!

In addition to the Doodlebug Show, each classroom has caterpillars for the butterfly lesson week.  The children are able to make daily observations throughout the month on the butterfly life cycle.  They made predictions, asked questions, and learned how to take care of them.  At the end of the month, they will release the butterflies outside as a class.  Our children love to look for bugs throughout the day at school, and it was a fun way to bring it into our lessons.

We hope all our Moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
