October is here and oh the month flew by!  Our theme for the month was Down on the Farm.  We hosted an Open House – Farmer’s Market, so parents can experience our curriculum firsthand.  The children and teachers designed, curated, and executed everything that was sold at the event from pickled jars and strawberry jam to bags, art, and clay sculptures.  In addition, they made baked goods and refreshments for everyone to enjoy while walking around.  Our activities at the event included face painting, pumpkin patch, and kidokinetics with music.  As our families entered into our Farmer’s Market, we passed out Hillsborough Dollars to spend at each booth.  The children experienced being the vendors with their teachers to being the customer with their families.  This was the best hands-on experience they will never forget!

Once the Farmer’s Market was completed, we rolled right into spirit week for the last week of October.  Each day was a new exciting theme for the children to participate in.  The week started with silly hair day and a visit from Firefighter Jamison to talk about fire safety, next we had wore blue or Hillsborough Shirt with a Magic Show, then it was Pajama Day, and we ended it with wear your costume to school day with a Trunk or Treat family event and fall snack.  All of our events could not have happened without our parent volunteers!  Thank you everyone for supporting the children’s learning here at Hillsborough Private School (Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool).
